Uhambo 8286 is an independent nonprofit that partners with small business owners in the most impoverish areas of South Africa. We sponsor their higher education through business courses as well as pair each entrepreneur with a team of marketing and design students to create their branding and strategic business plans. The idea is to empower them to start the business of their dreams and create a sustainable income for their families. When I was in college, I participated in this course. Upon graduation, I stayed involved and I now sit on the board of directors and mentor students each semester. I also continue to create brands alongside the students. This volunteer program was a life-changing experience for me and I hold this work very close to my heart. Below you will see the brand identity and visual assets I created for the program when it first became an independent nonprofit.
